For over 30 years Nia has been offering techniques and practices that help people live healthier and happier lives, with the aim of developing a wellness mindset.
The White Belt is a somatic path aimed at all those who wish to learn how to expand their awareness, using the wisdom of the body to improve their self-care and level of well-being.
The Art of Sensation training has recently been reworked and made more accessible not only to those who intend to teach, but also to those who are solely interested in personal growth.
Nia's philosophy starts from the premise that movement should make you feel good. When we constantly nourish the body with small acts of kindness and learn to keep track of feelings of pleasantness, we educate ourselves in health, well-being and fitness. Learning to listen to the voice of one's body develops body literacy and enables one to make choices that improve the total health and well-being of the body and life.
Nia techniques and practices are focused on increasing
During the training, the 52 Movements of Nia are introduced through the somatic anatomy approach.
Although mainly focused on a path of personal growth, Art of Sensation has an additional value that, if one wishes, could in time become an opportunity: the training is in fact the basis for becoming a Nia teacher and having all the indispensable tools for teaching.
What does it mean to be a Nia teacher?
Having the opportunity to pass on to other people those principles of well-being that you have acquired and already experienced on yourself, it means being part of a community or creating it from scratch, it means contributing to making known and conveying a new mentality of well-being: that which passes through listening to your own body.
In-person and online trainings are held.
The training consists of 32 hours of teaching and 10 Nia classes.
No experience or prerequisites are required.
Anyone can attend the Nia Art of Sensation course.
This course is suitable for all levels of fitness, experience and ability.
Continue to your Nia journey with the Nia Blue Belt: The Art of Communication, where you will explore how to take the foundation of sensation and awareness created in White Belt and expand into deep relationship with the world around you. You will explore and discover the Joy of Being in Relationship - with yourself, with others and with life. The Blue Belt Training guides you deeply into the relationship and intimacy you have with your body and the world around you. Building on the foundation of awareness from White Belt, you will expand your understanding of sensation in the body to include awareness of mental, emotional and spirit realms. Training in the Art of Communication will teach you the power of 2-way communication and provide tools to fully receive and transmit with clarity, enhancing your own body literacy and depth of connection in all relationships.
“We are never alone. Life is a shared experience, and to enjoy it fully, we need to master the art of skillful communication. Feeling peaceful on the top of the mountain is easy; it’s when we come down and deal with the flux — the good and bad of life — that we are tested. Constantly. We are in relationship with everything all the time. How we listen, how we share, and what we share comprise the art of communication. The more intimate and aware we are of the sensations of relationship, the better chance we have of crafting the one thing we all seek: loving human connections that continually reveal more of our best selves.” Debbie Rosas
